PESHAWAR: The priest of a church in the provincial capital has approached the police for providing security to the worship place after unknown people sent him threatening letters.

Zeeshan Bashir, the priest of a church in Christian Colony, Zargarabad locality, has approached the Agha Mir Jani Shah Police Station with complaint that he has been receiving threatening letters for the last many days. The complainant did not mention any name but said he can identify the persons who have been hurling threats at him and the church.


The Agha Mir Jani Shah Police Station, after lodging the case, has started investigation to find out the nature of the threats. The provincial convener of United Christian Coordination Committee Tanvir Shirazi and another leader Nazir Khokhar have asked the provincial government and police to provide security to Zeeshan Bashir and the worship place.
